Volunteer

Here are some different ways you could volunteer:

Client Advocate

This individual is the core of PRC ministry. Client Advocates volunteer once a week to come into the center and counsel women who are faced with an unexpected pregnancy.
COMMITMENT: One 3-4 hour shift per week. 6 month minimum.

HelpLine Counselor

This individual is a peer-counselor who is available to answer questions, take messages and give support to all that may call after PRC business hours. The main PRC phone number is transferred to a HelpLine counselor’s phone (home or cell) between PRC closing till PRC opening. The average number of phone calls received in an evening is two with a five minute conversation.
COMMITMENT: One evening per week or one weekend per month. 6 month minimum.

Clothesline Volunteer

The PRC need is twofold: sorting and distributing. We need individuals to sort donations of maternity clothing, baby clothing & baby related items, as well as recording inventory. We also need caring individuals to assist clients in obtaining clothing and other items.
COMMITMENT: One 2 to 4 hour shift per week or 1-2 shifts per month. 6 month minimum.

Prayer Ministry Volunteer

This individual is crucial to our ministry.  Regular PRC prayer updates are sent via email.
COMMITMENT: Daily

Post Abortion Counseling Education (PACE) Facilatator

This individual is a peer-counselor that leads women that have had an abortion through a biblically based 12 week support group. Many women struggle with their decisions concerning abortion. This group offers insight into forgiveness and a relationship with God.
COMMITMENT: one 4 hour shift per week for 12 weeks; group times vary. 12 month minimum

Sexual Education for Abstinent Lifestyles (SEAL) Presenter

This individual will present or assist in presentation of abstinence programs to public schools, youth detention centers, church youth groups and parent groups.
COMMITMENT: Schedule varies, call for more information.

Partners for Adoption Through Help & Support (PATHS) Leaders

This individual is a peer-counselor that specializes in supporting a birth-mom who is considering placing her child in adoption. PATHS peer-counselors go through a weekly study with a client to explore parenting and adoption. They give support to the birth mom to prepare her for her decision.
COMMITMENT: One 4 hour shift per week. 6 month minimum.

Office Help

These individuals will assist staff with general office duties such as greeting clients, scheduling, data entry, filing and mail. Other miscellaneous duties to be performed.
COMMITMENT: One 4 hour shift per week. 6 month minimum.

Event Planning

The PRC hosts 3 annual fundraising events: Banquet for Life, Baby Bottle Campaign and Walk for Life. These individuals will join a team that would plan, organize and implement varied details.
COMMITMENT: varies per event and responsibility. Can choose to help with particular event. Call for details.
