About

The Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) is a community outreach ministry for women, men and families with unplanned pregnancies. The PRC has been in existence since 1986. During that time approximately 17,000 women and teens in crisis pregnancy situations have received help through this ministry. It is the primary mission of the PRC to reach abortion minded women, offering care and hope for their future.

Our Mission

The Pregnancy Resource Center of Salt Lake is a Christ-centered ministry that works to meet the comprehensive needs of those unprepared for pregnancy, heal lives traumatized by abortion and challenge people to embrace a biblical view of sexuality and the sanctity of human life. Multiple services are provided to the community, all of which are confidential and free of charge. The PRC educates clients about parenting, adoption and the risks of abortion. Clients are counseled by volunteer Client Advocates who share God’s truth with love and grace. Other services offered include pregnancy verification, limited ultrasound services to determine if a woman has a viable pregnancy, clothing & material resources for during pregnancy as well as for the baby afterwards, and a 24-hour Helpline.

The PRC also has a team of volunteers who do presentations about abstinence, STD’s and pregnancy within the local Junior High Health Classes. This is a week long curriculum that offers straight talk and information for students. For women that have had an abortion and are struggling with their decisions, the PRC offers a biblically based support group called PACE (Post Abortion Counseling and Education). This support group offers insight into forgiveness and a relationship with God. This group is facilitated by women who are post-abortive themselves.

Transforming lives for Jesus Christ

It is important to the Pregnancy Resource Center that all staff and volunteers have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We meet many individuals on a daily basis that are suffering from the pain and consequences of their choices. We pray daily for the people that come through our doors and wait in anticipation for opportunities to tell them how Jesus Christ can change their lives. It is often when people are at their lowest and God has peeled back the hardened layers of their heart that the seed of the gospel and salvation can be planted. The staff and volunteers of the PRC plant daily and watch for the harvest. We speak the truth in love and offer support to our clients as they journey through their crisis. We share how God has helped each of us and how He desires to do the same for them. We try to connect people with local churches, depending on where they live, so they can join the body of Christ to be nurtured and loved.

The PRC is guided by a Board of Directors comprised of individuals from various area churches and businesses that believe in the sanctity of human life.

Our Commitment

  • The PRC is committed to assisting women carry their baby to term by providing emotional support and practical assistance. Through the provision of God’s people and the community at large, women may face the future with hope, planning constructively for themselves and their babies.
  • The PRC does not discriminate in providing services because of race, creed, color, national origin, age or marital status of its clients.
  • The PRC does not recommend, provide or refer for abortion or abortifacients.
  • The PRC offers assistance free of charge at all times.
  • The PRC is committed to creating awareness within the local community of the needs of pregnant women and the fact that abortion only compounds human need rather than resolving it.
  • The PRC does not recommend, provide nor refer single women for contraceptives. (Married women seeking contraceptive information are urged to seek counsel along with their husbands from their physicians and spiritual advisor).
